Graduates of the BSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering have been accredited by the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) and its predecessor, the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE), since 1988. The Department has been highly praised by the IET for the manner in which it has developed its curricula, which is driven by learning outcomes and incorporates traditionally problematic streams. The Department ensures that its curriculum is tightly linked to its learning outcomes (LOs) and satisfies the IET’s learning outcomes requirements for academic programmes en route to chartered engineering status.
The IET is one of the world's leading professional societies for the engineering and technology community. It has more than 150,000 members in 127 countries.
