Programme Overview
This programme exposes you to a variety of exciting fields such as: Sustainable Planning, Social and Environmental Justice, Climatology, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Natural Hazards and Disasters, Geomorphology, Hydrology and Environmental Modelling.
By the end of your degree you will be proficient in many valuable and in-demand skills such as GIS, remote sensing, mapping, interview and questionnaire design, proposal writing, programming, SPSS/Minitab, project management, presentation, critical thinking and analytical skills. A degree in Geography will be recognized globally and is one that will take you places.

Programme Breakdown
This Certificate Programme is designed to fulfil the matriculation requirements for admission to year one of the BSc Agriculture (Special) programme. It seeks to deliver the necessary fundamental knowledge of agricultural practices and technologies, while exploring current key topics in the agricultural field,and setting a great foundation for progression into degree level study.
On successful completion, the Certificate qualifies all candidates for direct entry to the BSc Agriculture (Special) programme, which offers a higher level of understanding, more hands-on experience in the field, and advanced theoretical and applied knowledge.
The Certificate is a one year programme of work full-time.
Part-time registration for the Certificate is also available.
*Individual courses are available to the public once all entry requirements are satisfied.

Entry Requirements
To enter into this programme, you must possess one of the following:
- UWI Certificate in Environmental Geography
- UWI Certificate in Agriculture

2 CAPE Science subjects (Units | & Il) or ‘A’ Level equivalent and a pass in Geography at CSEC (CXC) or GCE O-Level or an approved equivalent

2 CAPE subjects (Units | & Il) or ‘A’ Level equivalent, one (1) of which must be Geography or Environmental Science, normally with a minimum Grade of IV or D
- An approved Associate Degree with a minimum GPA of 2.5
