Programme Overview
The Major in Agricultural Technology prepares students to acquire training in modern farms and agricultural operations. It uses a curriculum that supports teaching and learning to develop independent critical thinkers, with problem solving skills, by applying advancements in technology, such as sensors, devices, machines, information technology, aerial images, and GPS technology. This allows precise and efficient application of agricultural inputs to ensure more productivity, profitability and safer environments. Students also become equipped with skills in reliably monitoring and management of natural resources that gives producers greater control over plant and animal production, processing, distribution, and storage.
Programme Breakdown
To major in Agricultural Technology, students are required to do 32 credits of level II and III courses in addition to compulsory level 1 courses. To obtain a BSc Major Degree, students must also do another major, one or two minors or the required number of elective courses in addition to their pre-requisites.
