Programme Overview

The BSc Agribusiness Management programme is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the dynamic field of agribusiness. This programme integrates the principles of business management with a focus on the unique challenges and opportunities within the broad food and beverage sector. You will study a range of topics including agricultural economics, marketing, finance, supply chain management, and sustainable agriculture practices. Through a combination of theoretical coursework, practical projects, and real-world experiences, you will develop a deep understanding of how to effectively manage food and agricultural enterprises.

Programme Breakdown

The BSc Agribusiness Management degree comprises 88 credits of core courses plus 6 credits of electives from the approved list, 4 credits of practical skills, 4 credits of internship and 6 credits of Foundation courses (FOUN 1101 OR FOUN 1301 AND FOUN 1105) AND a 3 credit Foreign Language requirement (Total 111 credits).

Students who intend to pursue an MSc in Agricultural Economics/Marketing and Agribusiness are advised that the Elective Course, ECON 2000, Intermediate Microeconomics I, would be an asset.

Entry Requirements

To enter into this programme, you must possess one of the following:

  • UWI Certificate in Agriculture
  • UWI Certificate in Human Ecology
  • UWI Certificate in Environmental Geography
  • UWI Undergraduate Diploma in Agriculture
  • 2 CAPE subjects (Units | & Il) or A-Level equivalent
    and A minimum of 5 subjects at CSEC General Proficiency (Grade I-II) or GCE O-level, or their equivalents, which must include English Language and Mathematics

  • An approved Associate Degree with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or any other equivalent qualification.
