About this Programme

Geography at the UWI is a broad and flexible programme which explores the contemporary challenges facing humanity and provides students with skills needed to develop solutions to these challenges. Geographers blend natural sciences, social sciences and humanities and combine it with mapping and spatial analysis to understand the complex patterns and processes across the earth. In this programme you will be exposed to a variety of exciting courses such as Sustainable Planning, Social and Environmental Justice, Climatology, the Tobago Field Course, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Natural Hazards and Disasters, Hydrology, Geopolitics, and Environmental Modelling. By the end of your degree you will be proficient in many valuable and in-demand skills such as GPS, Remote Sensing, Mapping, Interview and Questionnaire design, Research, Programming, SPSS/Minitab, Project management, Presentation, Writing, Design, Critical thinking and Analytical skills. As geography is an internationally recognised discipline, your degree will be recognised globally. A degree in Geography is one that will take you places.
