My teaching career began in 2000 as a Secondary School History/Social Studies teacher. Over the last three (3) years I was a part-time lecturer with the Catholic Research and Educational Development Institute (CREDI). I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, a Postgraduate Diploma in International Relations, a Diploma in Education (Social Studies/History) and a Masters of Education (Youth Guidance). I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Philosophy (Education).
My current position at the School of Education, UWI, St Augustine is an Assistant Lecturer, with my main responsibility being that of a supervisor in the Diploma in Education Programme. I am also a lecturer/tutor in the Masters of Education and the Bachelor of Education programmes. The courses I am attached to are as follows: Foundations of Education (EDFA5210), Project in the Theory of Education (EDFA 5220), Teaching of Social Sciences (EDSS5280), The Practice of Education (EDTL5230), Ed & Dev of Social Competencies (EDFA 6207), Cultural Diversity Citizenship and Schooling (EDFA 2401) and Fundamentals of Educational Research II (EDRS6210).
My area of research interest is the preparation of students for the world of work and my career goal is to have a positive impact on the education system of Trinidad and Tobago.
