Dr. Kamalodeen has been an educator for nearly 30 years. With initial experience at the secondary level in Mathematics and Information Technology, she soon moved over to the Curriculum Development Division of the Ministry of Education where she engaged in a wide range of cross-departmental and ministerial activity. In particular, in 2004 she was the team leader for the Trinidad and Tobago Mathematics Curriculum forms 4-5. She now holds the post of Lecturer in Education (Mathematics/ Information Technology) at the University of the West Indies at St. Augustine. She completed her Doctor of Education at the University of Sheffield, UK in 2013. She has conducted an extensive number of workshops on behalf of the Ministry of Education and the UWI over the years in areas related to content and pedagogy and technology. She is very interested in the nexus of technological pedagogical content knowledge. Currently she is the chair of the Mixed Methods International Conference in the Caribbean 2017, team leader for the game-based learning research project in primary schools.  Her special interests are in multi-modal game-based learning, collaborative research, mixed methods research and integration of technology in the classroom. She has keen involvement with eradicating domestic violence in the society and works extensively to eradicate illiteracy and poverty.
