Dr. Marie-Louise Dottin is a Lecturer in Reading at the School of Education, Faculty of Humanities and Education, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus. Currently, she is also acting as Coordinator of both the B.Ed. and M.Ed. Programmes. Additionally, she is assigned as a Reading Specialist to the Psychoeducational Diagnosis and Intervention Clinic (PEDIC).

Dr. Dottin obtained a PhD in Education and a BSc. Sociology degree from the University of the West Indies and an M.Phil. in Education from the University of Cambridge, UK. She is a member of the Adult Literacy Tutors’ Association (ALTA), and the Dyslexia Association of Trinidad & Tobago (DATT). While she teaches at the tertiary level, she has also taught persons at primary and secondary levels of education and considers herself to be a foundation teacher.

She has a keen interest in Reading pedagogy as it relates to children and adults especially in Trinidad & Tobago and the Caribbean; Exploring the role and influence of Trinidad English Creole (TEC) in the acquisition of literacy skills; Communication; and Professionalism, ethics & communication in health.
