Dr Rinnelle Lee-Piggott is a lecturer in Educational Leadership at the School of Education, the University of the West Indies (St Augustine Campus).  A national scholarship awardee, trained external evaluator of educational institutions and former primary school teacher and middle manager, Dr Lee-Piggott holds a Bachelor in Education, specializing in Mathematics, awarded by the University of the West Indies.  She also possesses a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Management and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Education, both attained from the University of Nottingham, UK.  Her doctoral thesis won 2nd place in the prestigious British Educational Leadership Management and Administration Society (BELMAS) 2017 best thesis award, standing out among the many submissions examined from across UK universities.  Dr Lee-Piggott has worked on a number of local, government-funded and international research projects and is a published author of book chapters and journal articles on beginning principal leadership and development, teacher leadership, social justice leadership, school culture and school improvement particularly in schools facing challenging circumstances.  She is also a journal reviewer for a number of journals, including the acclaimed Educational Management Administration and Leadership (EMAL) Journal, and a member of a number of renowned professional bodies, including the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and the International Congress for School Effectiveness and Improvement (ICSEI).  Dr Lee-Piggott has also worked as a National Test standards judge in Trinidad and, in England, functioned as a school leaders’ career development researcher and volunteer facilitator of reading to primary school students.
