Introduction to the Faculty of Social Sciences Alumni Chapter

The Faculty of Social Sciences Alumni Chapter serves as an active network that connects and engages former students of the faculty with their alma mater, their past colleagues and current students.

The UWI-FSS AA offers:

  • A platform for alumni to stay updated and well-informed of current and ongoing developments within the Faculty.
  • An avenue for collaboration, insightful engagements, dialogues and contributions to initiatives that aim to transform the future-oriented social sciences education.
  • A community and lifelong learning atmosphere.
  • An array of opportunities for upliftment in areas such as professional growth, personal development and social impact.
  • Pathways for Alumni to ‘give back’, enhance the students’ experience and boost the Faculty’s reputation locally, regionally and internationally.
  • A forum to showcase the accomplishments of its alumni and sustain the values of the Faculty.

Mission

The mission of the Faculty of Social Sciences Alumni Chapter is to cultivate a lifelong connection among alumni and their alma mater by promoting a vivacious, relevant and supportive community. We aim to offer opportunities for ongoing professional growth, collaborative alliances, knowledge acquisition, and mentorship, thus contributing to the increased elevation of Social Sciences education and research. Through insightful, rich engagement and a dedicated approach to social responsibility, we empower and equip alumni to make lasting societal impacts, thus supporting present students in their academic journey and career aspirations.

Our vision is to be a globally recognized network of empowered, engaged, dynamic alumni who are unified by their communal experiences and commitment to social transformation and advancement. We aspire to develop a sustainable, influential and powerful alumni community that continuously adds to the development of the Faculty of Social Sciences, thus transforming the future of the Social Sciences via leadership, innovation and service to the collective good.
