UWI St. Augustine Faculty of Social Sciences Launches Alumni Chapter with Inspiring Evening of Stories and Celebration
St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago – The University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine Campus, proudly launched the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS) Alumni Chapter in a vibrant and engaging event held on May 3rd at UWI Social Sciences Lounge.
The launch brought together alumni and faculty members for an evening of reconnection, reflection, and celebration. A highlight of the night was “UWI Stories”, a segment that featured powerful and personal reflections from distinguished FSS alumni:
- Nigel Edwards, Executive Director of the Unit Trust Corporation
- Ramon Gregorio, Managing Director of Lucent Research
- Dr. Gloria Edwards-Joseph, Human Resource Management Consultant
Each speaker shared their unique journey through UWI and the role the Faculty of Social Sciences played in shaping their professional and personal lives. Their stories reminded all in attendance of the strength, diversity, and impact of the FSS alumni community.
The event also included interactive games, delicious food and drinks, and live entertainment, creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere for alumni to reconnect and network. Several giveaways, including beautifully packaged hampers from Coca Cola and A.S. Bryden, added to the celebratory spirit of the evening.
This launch marks the beginning of a renewed effort to foster stronger ties among alumni, support the development of current students, and enhance the visibility of the Faculty of Social Sciences through community and professional engagement.
The STA FSS Alumni Chapter invites all graduates of the Faculty to get involved and be a part of building a dynamic, supportive alumni network. Become a member and find out more here -> Stay Connected – Faculty of Social Sciences
