- The Signature Cocktail Event- 30th Anniversary of Psychology
The Psychology Programme in the Department of Behavioural Sciences, at The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2025/2026. This anniversary commemorates three decades of dedicated teaching, research, and service in the field of Psychology, reflecting the Unit’s longstanding commitment to advancing psychological knowledge, fostering student development, and addressing pressing societal challenges within Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean region. The occasion offers a meaningful opportunity to honour the Unit’s legacy, recognize the contributions of past and present faculty, alumni, and stakeholders, and envision the future of Psychology education, and scholarship at the St. Augustine Campus.

The evening featured brief remarks by Professor Ramesh Deosaran and Professor Derek Chadee (delivered by Dr. Felicia Frederick-Davis), along with recognition of milestone achievements and opportunities to honour the Unit’s growth and contributions over the past three decades. Those receiving awards in recognition of appreciation and longstanding service to the Unit included Professor Ramesh Deosaran, Professor Derek Chadee, Mr. Harold Pulwarty, Dr. Heather Hollingsworth, Dr. Rosana Yearwood and Mr. Steve Dwarika. The event also highlighted the research of students, past and present, and staff through poster displays presented in an art gallery-style format. The formal event closed with a toast to honour this remarkable milestone 30 years of Psychology and to the continued growth, impact, and excellence of the discipline in the decades ahead.
