We are delighted to announce that The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus has emerged as the winner of the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s prestigious Regional Next-Gen Tourism Showcase 2025, held in Times Square, New York City on 3rd June 2025!
Representing the TOUR 2001 Caribbean Tourism course, the winning team comprised:

The students impressed the judges with their powerful and engaging pitch, “Healing Roots” — a visionary concept centered on revitalizing Paramin Village as an agri-edu tourism hub. Their proposal brilliantly integrated elements of culture, wellness, sustainable farming, and community storytelling, offering a fresh and immersive tourism experience.
The team’s dynamic presentation was not only well-researched and creatively delivered, but it also stood out as a shining example of youth-led innovation shaping the future of Caribbean tourism.
