Acolla Lewis-Cameron, PhD is currently Senior Lecturer and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine, Trinidad. She is also the Chair of the Tourism Standing Committee for the Strategic and Sustainable Development of Tourism in Trinidad. Her educational achievements include a MSc. Hospitality and Tourism Education from the University of Surrey, UK and a PhD in Tourism Education from Brunel University in the UK. Acolla’s teaching experience in tourism planning and policy and marketing, and her research and consultancy in the above areas have provided an all round understanding of the industry. She is the lead editor of text, ͞Marketing Island Destinations: Concepts and Cases͟ and co-author of the text ͞Caribbean Tourism: Concepts and Cases.

Research Interests
- Tourism development in small island states and more specifically, Tourism Education in the Caribbean, Human Resource Development in the tourism industry in the region, and the impacts of tourism development on small island states.
