Marcia Nathai-Balkissoon (ORCID ID 0000-0001-5669-5989) teaches Occupational Safety, Quality Management, and Business Strategy courses, and earned the UWI/Guardian Life Premium Teaching Award in 2016. She holds a B.Sc. Industrial Engineering, M.Sc. Engineering Management and Ph.D. Industrial Engineering with a focus on Occupational Safety and Health Management. Marcia’s research and publication focus includes Safety and Health Management, Knowledge Management, and Teaching and Learning, and she has also collaborated on work in other fields relevant to manufacturing, including innovation and food safety.

A Registered Engineer in Trinidad and Tobago, Marcia is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Trinidad and Tobago, Safety Council of Trinidad and Tobago, and Institution of Engineering and Technology, as well as a senior member of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers. Having worked as an engineer, auditor, manager, and consultant in several industry settings, Marcia is passionate about making a difference to manufacturing companies in the Caribbean region via her research and teaching.
