This will be delivered through lectures that cover the fundamental principles in the manufacture of selected chemicals, with a focus on how the chemistry taught in core courses is integrated into the chemical industry. Additionally, students be exposed to the working environment of local industrial plants through site visits and recent literature on chemical production (markets and outlooks) Finally health and safety aspects of the manufacturing processes and the chemical products themselves will be presented to students for discussion.
