Course Description

Introduction and fundamental theory of spectroscopic techniques important to chemists and how the techniques can be used to find out more about atoms and molecules. The course also includes reaction kinetics, particularly its application to real world chemistry problems. This is a core subject area in physical chemistry. The course covers important material that will be needed in subsequent courses in all disciplines of chemistry. The course is assessed by two in-course examinations, and tutorial activities, along with a final examination.
