Course Description

Develop a deep understanding of advanced concepts of occupational safety and hygiene. For example, OSH professionals and the resources available to assist them, contemporary methods of toxicology and risk assessment of workplace hazards, contemporary issues on chemical hazards in the workplace, measurement of chemical hazards in the workplace, measurement of physical hazards in the workplace, ergonomics, occupational epidemiology, and national, regional and international guidelines, standards and regulations.

 

Assessment

Coursework: laboratory - 20%; field survey and report   30%.
Final examination: One two-hour written paper              50%.
