The objective of the programmes is to train students for careers in research and teaching in neuroscience related fields. This is a rapidly evolving and increasingly important area that ultimately impacts social, health and economic sphere of human endeavour. The PhD graduates of the programme are expected to make a significant contribution to the field and be able to carry out independent research. These graduates would be suited as research scientists, university lecturers, science policy advisors and other positions requiring sophisticated training at the PhD level. Graduates will also be suited to work within the pharmaceutical industry.
