To enhance your safety and security, the University operates a Shuttle Service, which provides free transportation for students. Students must produce/display UWI I.D. Cards to access this service.
The Student Shuttle Service provides transportation for students according to the schedules for each respective route outlined below. However, shuttle service transportation will be provided for Nursing and Optometry students between the main St. Augustine Campus and the Couva Hospital Multi-Training Facility (CHMTF) upon requests from the School of Nursing and the Optometry Unit.

SHUTTLE ROUTE 1 - Department for Creative and Festival Arts/St. Augustine (North)
This route serves students attending the Department for Creative and Festival Arts, School of Education, and (after 6:30 pm) St. Augustine/Santal Margarita/Tunapuna area residents.

SHUTTLE ROUTE 2 – St. Augustine (East/Tunapuna)
This route serves students residing east of the main campus, as far as El Dorado Road.

SHUTTLE ROUTE 3 – Sir Arthur Lewis Hall of Residence (SALHOR)
This route serves students residing at the Sir Arthur Lewis Hall of Residence and St. John’s Road.

SHUTTLE ROUTE 4 – General (East)
This route serves students who require transportation to areas east of the campus, as far as El Dorado Road. Between the hours of 10:00 pm to 4:00 am. Students will be conveyed directly to the entrance of their respective destinations within the routes circuit or as close as practicable thereto.

MOUNT HOPE SHUTTLE
SHUTTLE ROUTE 5– Mount Hope/San Juan
This route serves the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Joyce Gibson-Innis Hall of Residence, University Field Station, and (from 6: 30pm) students residing to the West of the Campus, as far as the San Juan Bus Terminus.

MOUNT HOPE SHUTTLE
SHUTTLE ROUTE 6 – General (West)
This route serves students who require transportation to areas west of the campus, as far as the San Juan Bus Terminus. Between the hours of (10:00 pm to 4:00 am), students will be conveyed directly to the entrance of their respective destinations within the route’s circuit or as close as practicable thereto.

CMTF SHUTTLE
SHUTTLE ROUTE 7- Preysal Flyover – Couva Multi-training Facility (CMF)
This route provides a service to convey UWI Optometry and Nursing students from the PTSC Bus Stops at the Preysal Flyover (both north-and-south-bound sides of the Uriah Butler Highway) to the CMF. Students may utilize the PTSC Bus service that operates between the San Fernando Bus terminal and the UWI St. Augustine Campus that runs every hour (approximately) to reach the Preysal Flyover.
As shuttles are prohibited from parking on the northbound bus stop, students may contact the UWI Charge room via hotline telephone number 662-4123, to request shuttle pickup from the northbound bus stop.

CMTF SHUTTLE
SHUTTLE ROUTE 8 – THE UWI St. Augustine Main Campus – Couva Multi-training Facility (CMF)
This route provides a limited shuttle service to convey UWI Optometry and Nursing students from the UWI St. Augustine main campus to CMF. This route provides shuttle transportation according to requests, mainly from the office of the director of the School of Nursing and the president of the Optometry Student’s Association.
The first trip usually departs the main campus around 7:00 am but this may vary, depending on request schedules and the arrival of students for the service. While the shuttle is en route between the campus and the CMF, any students who arrive and request shuttle transportation to the CMF, must either wait until the shuttle returns or make use of the PTSC Bus Service, as this route is serviced by a single shuttle only.
