Culture Workshops

The Chinese Corner activity consists of cultural sessions on select topics related to China and Chinese culture. Participants benefit from the exceptional opportunity to learn about Chinese history and culture, while also acquiring thematic vocabulary and phrases in Mandarin Chinese.

The workshop costs are currently being revised. They will be made available when a workshop is advertised. Some of the available workshops and lectures include:

  • Chinese Paper Cutting
  • Chinese Tea Culture

Chinese Poem Calligraphy Workshop
Date: Friday 29 May, 2025
Time: 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Description: Chinese characters embody the essence of ancient Chinese civilization, while Chinese poetry represents the heart of its cultural heritage. Join us for the Chinese Poetry Writing Workshop, where you’ll explore Chinese culture through the beauty of a 20-character poem. Fall in love with poetry and the elegance of Chinese characters. Create your own calligraphy masterpiece, make new friends, and perhaps even discover a new side of yourself.
Maximum workshop participants: 12 persons (registration will be done on a first come, first served basis)

Registration period: May 12 - 22, 2025 (the registration form will automatically be disabled upon reaching 12 participants)

All materials will be provided on the day of the workshop. 

NB - This workshop is being offered free due to it being the first class since our re-opening. All subsequent Chinese Culture Corner workshops will carry a fee.
