Department of Clinical Surgical Sciences Benevolent Fund
The Department of Clinical Surgical Sciences is pleased to announce that funding is now available to assist Year 4 and Year 5 MBBS students with their educational expenses.
Terms and Conditions:
- These awards will be available to students on the basis of verifiable financial need.
- Applicants must be a registered MBBS students at The University of the West Indies, St Augustine Campus.
- Applicants must have already exhausted the Hardship Grant Fund.
- Applicants must provide a written rationale for applying, to be completed in the designated area of the online application form
- Applicants will be contacted for an interview with the Manager/Representative of the Financial Advisory Services, Division of Student Services and Development, UWI
- Applicants must attach a scanned copy of the required supporting documents:
· National ID and UWI Student ID
· Parent/Guardian/Student’s payslip or job letter/ proof of retrenchment
· Letter stating the nature of business for self-employed persons
· Medical documentation (in cases of illness)
· Any other relevant documentation that supports your rationale for applying
Process for Applying:
STEP 1: Click on the following link to complete the Application for the Department of Clinical Surgical Sciences Benevolent Fund. Please be sure to include a detailed rationale for your application.
STEP 2: Upload all the relevant supporting documents, as listed in the eligibility criteria above, into the designated area on the online application form.
Disbursement of Awards:
Students will receive notification of their successful application via e-mail from the Financial Advisory Service Department.
Please note that all requests will be subject to standard UWI financial aid processes and each request will be taken on a case-by-case basis, in relation to the resources available.
