Job Placement

Thousands of students register for employment throughout the academic year. Our Careers & Placement section is charged with the responsibility of facilitating employment opportunities for students, recent graduates and alumni.  Students can be employed part-time at the university during the semester and/or vacation period and externally through various companies. Graduates can access long-term or contractual employment externally via company request. All employment is based on demand.

Types of On- Campus Opportunities can include;
  1. General Office Assistants
  2. Event Promotions and technical support
  3. Ushering
  4. Research Assistants
  5. Lab Technicians
  6. Special Project Assistants  (may be one-off jobs)
  7. Locker Rental support and facility management
Types of off-campus external opportunities include;
  1. Internships
  2. Graduate programmes
  3. Special Projects
  4. Contractual Employment

 

Semester Employment                             

At the start of the academic year students are urged to apply for semester employment in order to be considered eligible for employment on campus throughout the year. Registration usually opens in semester 1 (September) of that academic year.

Interested students can apply for semester employment when the link becomes available. Please note the link will only be opened during the specified period.

Vacation Employment

The vacation employment period runs from June to August where students have the opportunity to gain employment for one month on campus while receiving a small stipend. Registration for vacation employment usually opens in semester 2 (March)

External Requests

The Careers & Placement section services several of our stakeholder companies with our student resumes for the purpose of employment. This can be either short term or long term opportunities.

WOW participants (Final Year students) are required to submit their resumes after registering for the programme. The designated email addresses for each faculty are provided.

Continuing students submit their resumes via the vacation employment email.

Please note that by submitting your resumes you are giving consent for the resumes to be sent to potential employers.
