About the DSSD
Who We Are
Through eight (8) dynamic departments, the DSSD functions as strategic partners in student learning, development and success. We are committed to the well-being of students and facilitating high impact learning while supporting the creation of a fully integrated, holistic educational experience for students through the process of transition all the way to graduation at The UWI St. Augustine.
The Division of Student Services and Development (DSSD) at The University of the West Indies (The UWI), St. Augustine is committed to facilitating each student’s personal and academic success by creating an environment where students are actively engaged as they navigate campus life.
We are also committed to responding to the evolving needs of our stakeholders – students, the extended campus community and the wider society; thus, the DSSD will establish itself as part of the core business of The UWI.
To provide excellent student-life and developmental experiences which will positively impact student retention and success.
