The Evening and Part-Time Society, in service to their constituents, is offering financial support in the form of a grant to assist students facing financial challenges.  The grant aims to assist students with the achievement of educational goals while positively impacting their academic journey.

About the Grant:

The Evening/Part-Time Society Grant provides financial support to two (2) eligible registered evening/part-time students: (1) one undergraduate student and (1) one post-graduate student.  Each successful applicant will receive the sum of $TTD5000, as a one-time, non-repayable disbursement.  Successful applicants may opt to have these funds disbursed via their local bank account or may request that the funds be applied towards outstanding UWI tuition or other fees. 

Terms and Conditions:

  • Applicants must be currently registered part-time/evening students of The University of the West Indies, St Augustine Campus
  • Applicants must provide a written rationale for applying, in the designated area of the online application form.  
  • Applicants will be contacted for an interview with the Manager/Representative of the Financial Advisory Services, Division of Student Services and Development, UWI
  • Applicants must attach a scanned copy of:
    • National ID and Student ID
    • Parent/Guardian/Student’s mortgage payment or most recent rent payment receipt
    • Parent/Guardian/Student’s payslip or job letter/ proof of retrenchment
    • Letter stating the nature of business for self-employed persons
    • Medical documentation (in cases of illness)
    • Any other relevant document/evidence that supports your rationale for applying

Process for Applying:

STEP 1: Click on the following link to complete the Application for the Evening/Part-Time Society Grant Form.  Please be sure to include a detailed rationale for your application
 
STEP 2: Upload the relevant supporting documents, as listed in the eligibility criteria above, into the designated area on the online application form 

STEP 3: Funds will be disbursed via ACH/direct bank deposit.  For this purpose upload the top section of your bank statement into the designated area on the form showing: Name on the Account, Account Number, Type of Account, Name of Bank, and Routing Number (if required). Please note that your balances are not required.

Disbursement of Funds:

Successful applicants may request to have these funds applied towards their outstanding UWI fees or disbursed to their local bank account. If you do not have a local bank account kindly, indicate this within the application.  Our department can assist with arrangements to set up a bank account with one of the local banks.
 
Students will receive notification of their successful application via e-mail address message and will be asked to confirm receipt of funds following disbursement.
 

Please note that all requests will be subject to standard UWI financial aid processes and each request will be taken on a case-by-case basis, in relation to the resources available.
