Welcome to the Geomechanics and Rock Physics (GaRP) Laboratory of the Petroleum Studies Unit, Department of Chemical Engineering, at the University of West Indies.

Our aim is to provide professional geomechanical and rock physics research and services, both regionally and internationally, utilizing state of the art innovation and cutting-edge technology. Our facilities can conduct geomechanics and reservoir characterization at subsurface conditions up to 8 km depth. The facilities are highly specialized, have a unique setup, and is the only one existing in this region (Caribbean, Central and South America).
