NEQUESHA DALRYMPLE

INSTRUCTOR III

BIO:

Nequesha Dalrymple is currently an Instructor in the department of Agricultural Economics and Extension, the University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine where she teaches in the Human Nutrition & Dietetics and Nutritional Sciences degree programme.  She has also lectured at the University of the Southern Caribbean in the Family and Consumer Sciences Department.  She holds a BSc. in Human Ecology and an MSc. in Nutrition.

She has published in several international peer-review journals including West Indian Medical Journal (WIMJ), FASEB (Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology), Public Health Nutrition and in the Handbook of Anthropometry.

She is currently pursuing her PhD in Nutrition.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Development of courses in assigned subject areas
  • Preparation of course materials.
  • Conducting lecture sessions in the subject area assigned.
  • Setting of examination papers guided according to the rules and regulations of the University’s examination section. 
  • Marking of scripts (mid-term/finals) for examinations.
  • Academic Advising
  • Supervising final year projects

  • MSc. in Nutrition (2006) from the Tropical Metabolism Research Unit (TMRU) UWI Mona
  • BSc. in Human Ecology (Nutrition and Dietetics) (2002) UWI St. Augustine

Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Intervention Assessment Methodology, Research Methods and Critical Evaluation of medical literature and application of methodological concepts to unravel the several socio-economic issues relevant to health

Proposal writing, questionnaire and study design, statistical proficiency using SPSS, critical evaluation of health related literature, report writing, oral presentations using multimedia
