Research
My main research interests are in climate-driven natural hazards, particularly flood inundation, and the impacts of climate change. I am particularly interested in the use of computational modelling and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) to assess flood risk, the use of remote sensing data to drive and validate computational models, and the assessment of the effect of uncertainty on model predictions.
My research extends to the analysis of surface water and wetland dynamics using remote sensing, field measurements and hydraulic modelling, particularly at large spatial scales (such as the Amazon wetlands).
I have a multidisciplinary research background, incorporating remote sensing, spatially-distributed dynamic modelling, uncertainty analysis and GIS. I also have interests generally in the use of open-source tools in GIS, remote sensing and web mapping.
