Bem-vindo! |
Welcome! |
The Portuguese language programme at UWI, St Augustine began in 1988, with two Luso-Brazilian language and culture courses, in conjunction with the Universidade de Brasília. The Portuguese and Brazilian Studies Section of Modern Languages and Linguistics started the Minor in Brazilian Studies in 2013 (read more here).
Our students come from a variety of disciplines, especially Spanish, and the interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts (BA) Latin American Studies.
Students reading Portuguese and Brazilian Studies are able to utilise their newly acquired language and culture skills in many ways to enhance their careers or future career goals.
