SPAN 3604 Major Spanish American Writers
Pre-requisites: SPAN 1001 and any Level II Hispanic Literature course
This course offers an analysis of the works of one or two writers of international stature. In any year the writer/s and work/s will be studied in some depth taking into account their contributions in essay, novel or poetry.
Texts are selected from the work of Neruda, Borges, Vallejo, Paz, García Márquez, Cortázar, Allende and/or any other writer/s that the instructor may consider appropriate.
Method of Instruction: 2 lectures and 1 tutorial per week
Assessment: 40% in-course assessment, 60% final examination
