CSEC: The minimum CSEC admission requirement for Dentistry is the possession of passes in the Physics, English, Maths, Chemistry and Biology at the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate level.
CAPE: Applicants must also have three passes in Biology and Chemistry and one other subject at the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE) OR the PreScience Agriculture Programme offered at the UWI School of Continuing Studies OR other equivalent certification in these subjects which is recognized by the University for admission purposes.
Applicants who have first degrees will be assessed based on Grade Point Average and the components of the degree programme. Students who have not written CSEC or CAPE need to have components of Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Mathematics as components of their Degree. Note that North American High School Courses are not considered. Candidates are invited to apply after completing one year of the degree programme. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.
The School of Dentistry admits approximately 25 students annually, maintaining a competitive and selective admissions process. Offers are extended on a first-come, first-served basis. If the cohort for the current year is full, qualified applicants are assured a confirmed place in the following year.
