Ms. Malini Maharaj is currently an assistant lecturer in the Department of Economics at The University of the West Indies, St Augustine, where she has taught for the past 16 years. She has also lectured at the school of Business and Computer Sciences (SBCS) as well as, COSTATT over these years. Apart from teaching, Ms. Maharaj has also been involved in research on projects involving Governance, Poverty and the Environment, while consulting with local and foreign institutions such as the Environmental Management Authority, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the International Budget Partnership, the World Bank and the United Nations. Her area of specialization is on Sustainable Development.

A National Scholarship Awardee, Malini is a graduate of St. Joseph’s Convent San Fernando, and Robert Village Hindu School Tableland. She is currently completing a doctorate in Economics having finished her Bachelor’s and Master’s of Science and upgraded Master’s of Philosophy in this field.
