  • On Friday, February 20, 2026, Prof. Andy Knight (centre), Acting Director of the Institute of International Relations (2013–2015), met with Dr. Abdul Knowles (right), the Institute’s new Director, and Prof. Winston Dookeran (left).

  • On February 10,  2026, the Institute of International Relations (IIR) was pleased to welcome Mr. Leo Page Blau, Assistant Public Affairs Officer & Kervelle Durant-Julien, Public Engagement Specialist of the U.S. Embassy, Port of Spain. During their visit, Mr. Blau & Ms. Durant-Julien met with our new Director, Dr. Abdul Knowles (PhD, LL.M.), as well as Dr. Georgina Chami, lecturer at the IIR. The engagement was truly insightful and provided a meaningful opportunity for discussion on areas of mutual interest and future collaboration.

  • On Monday, February 23, 2026, Mr. Stuart Shaw, Political Counsellor, and his team from the High Commission of Canada paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Abdul Knowles.

  • Prof. Compton Bourne presented a copy of his latest book to Dr. Seerattan, Ag. Director and Prof. Winston Dookeran on October 02, 2025

  • Dr. Jacqueline Laguardia Martinez, Senior Lecturer, IIR and Dr. Miosotis Rivas-Peña, Chief of ECLAC Subregional Headquarters for the Caribbean.
