The UWI St Augustine Campus signed a Memorandum of Understanding with The University of Trinidad and Tobago on May 01st, 2024, and launched the Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage Collaborate (CCUS-C) as a Research and Development Centre of Excellence. This signing demonstrates that both universities, in collaboration with Energy Industries, Government and International Partners, have recognised the potential for Trinidad and Tobago to develop Carbon Capture and Storage as a part of its national carbon emission reduction and climate change mitigation strategy.
