The much-anticipated First Multi-Disciplinary, Multi-Campus MSc at The UWI – The M.Sc. in Climate Studies was launched in January 2024. The programme, MSc and Diploma, aims to meet the needs of a world engulfed in climate change challenges, which permeate every facet of life – hence the multi-disciplinary nature of the programme. For the first time, a programme will be taught using lecturers from any and all of the campuses, building on the strength of several and various climate change experts that exist at The UWI. This institution has a long and proud research, publication and policy development record in climate change and related issues, giving the programme a comparative advantage. There is a great need for policymakers, planners and others to have an informed view of climate change if successful developmental planning is to take place. The programme has already been targeted to be part of the offerings of the soon-to-be-launched Institute for Sustainable Development.
