Campus Council 2025

The Campus Council Meeting was held on 11 March 2025, with the theme “UWI Made: Leveraging Strengths for Growth and Sustainability”. The theme was chosen to highlight how the St Augustine Campus is ramping up its efforts to increase revenue flows and contribute to local and regional sustainable developmental efforts. The Council Meeting was chaired for the first time by newly installed Council Chair Mr Robert Riley.

The Campus Principal’s presentation highlighted the efforts made by the St Augustine Campus to advance the Revenue Revolution through its focus on four key areas:

  • Translating research into entrepreneurship
  • More Agile and Relevant programming such as CPEs
  • Fostering employee engagement
  • Advancing the green agenda
  • Strengthening stakeholder relationships

The presentation showed the significant progress made in several revenue-earning initiatives, such as the Global School of Medicine, UWI SEAL-It, the Chocolate Factory and the concrete output from the Shark Tank initiative launched by the Campus Principal in November 2022. Two examples are the Humankind Studio from the Faculty of Humanities and Education and the Optometry Services from the Faculty of Medical Sciences.
