Launch of the Artificial Intelligence Innovation Centre

The Campus launched its Artificial Intelligence Innovation Centre (AIIC) on 13 December 2025 at the Trinidad Radisson. The Centre has been in the making for a long time and involved upgrading the Intelligent Systems Laboratory out of the Faculty of Engineering to the AIIC. It harnesses the expertise of the Campus in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and includes several research clusters and programmes in AI. The AIIC’s work will cover both research in AI and development, inclusive of advancements in AI theory, hardware and software systems. It will also entail work in applied AI, focusing on challenges such as robotics, cybersecurity, energy, sustainability, climate resilience, agriculture, and the digital humanities.
