The UWI Pre-School welcomed its inaugural cohort of students in September 2026, marking an important expansion of the services offered through the UWI Child Learning and Discovery Facility. Previously focused on after-school care for the children of staff, the introduction of the Pre-School represents a new revenue-generating initiative that broadens the Campus’ contribution to early childhood education.
Designed for children between the ages of three and five, the programme provides early childhood care and education in an environment grounded in research, sustainability and holistic child development. Classes are offered Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a curriculum delivered by qualified and trained educators dedicated to nurturing confident, socially responsible and environmentally conscious learners.
The programme welcomed 14 students in its first intake, reflecting strong interest in a distinctive educational offering that draws on the expertise and values of The UWI. As the Pre-School grows, it is expected to strengthen the Campus’ engagement with families while providing high-quality early childhood learning experiences that support children’s development and future success.
