Welcome to The University of the West Indies (The UWI), St Augustine Campus, where excellence meets opportunity.
I am delighted to address our community, within and beyond our institution, whose continued support enables us to inspire innovation, achieve excellence and, most importantly, create meaningful impact.
In the 2022/2023 academic year, I assumed the role of Campus Principal, coinciding with the beginning of Phase II of our 2022–2027 Strategic Plan. Central to this phase has been the “Revenue Revolution,” designed to strengthen the financial sustainability of all campuses. To meet our targets, the St Augustine Campus has expanded its leadership in entrepreneurship, innovation and research-driven development. This website will share updates on our strategic priority projects, research advancements, commercial initiatives and institutional progress—reinforcing our commitment to accountability and transparency.
The UWI has a distinguished legacy of excellence. Since its establishment in 1948, The UWI has graduated over 240,000 students, including 25 Heads of Government. Today, we continue to shape global thought leadership through transformative research and scholarship, addressing critical challenges such as climate change, food security and artificial intelligence. Through this platform, you can expect:
1. Strategic Insight: Gain access to updates on our strategic priority projects, commercial ventures and initiatives that drive sustainability and growth.
2. Research and Innovation: Explore ground-breaking research, publications and discoveries led by our scientists and scholars.
3. Engagement and Partnerships: Stay connected with our events, outreach activities and strategic collaborations with regional and global partners. 4. News and Achievements: Keep up to date with the latest developments, milestones and successes across the Campus.
At The UWI St Augustine, we are dedicated to fostering a culture of critical thinking, curiosity, innovation and lifelong learning. Our mission extends beyond education, as we seek to empower our students, partners and stakeholders to become influential leaders and agents of positive change.
I invite you to explore, engage and connect with us.
Sincerely,
Professor Rose-Marie Belle Antoine
Pro-Vice Chancellor and Campus Principal
