Highlights from our 2025 Post Budget Forum

Our esteemed panelists comprising of Dr. Marlene Attzs, Dr. Regan Deonanan and Dr. Dave Seeratan all brought with them illuminating presentations that provided great insight into the highs and lows of the 2025 National Budget. The great level of engagement from the students and lecturers in attendance posited important questions that both highlighted the opportunities for economic growth and critiqued the decisions that may result in some shortcomings. Overall the event was a success that left all who attended with a greater appreciation for critical discussions on decisions that impact the nation of Trinidad and Tobago.

Highlights from our 2025 Youth Debate Knock Off Finals

Our 2025 Youth Debate Knock-off Finals were held on June 26th. It was a close combat of intellectual jousting between Point Fortin East Secondary and Holy Faith Convent Couva who were able to come out on top by a small margin. Additionally, our very own Economics Society took on UWI Roytec with a strong stance but unfortunately was unearthed by Roytec's dynamic duo! It was a successful event that truly illustrated how the art of intellectual discussion is still very much in good hands in our nation.

Highlights from our 2025 Youth Debate Knock Off

Our 2025 Youth Debate Knock-off was held on April 10th. It was a riveting clash of ideas that saw 4 quick-witted secondary schools compete. Namely, Arima North Secondary School, Holy Faith Convent Couva, Manzanilla Secondary School and Point Fortin East Secondary School. Ultimately, it would be Point Fortin East Secondary School that would rise to the occassion and became our champion debaters

Highlights from our 2025 COTE Youth Armchair Discussion

The 2025 COTE Youth Armchair Discussion was held on March 13th at the Centre of Language Learning Auditorium.This event featured an engaging conversation between our very own university's economics students as well as passionate secondary school students. Dr. Benjamin Ramkissoon delightfully moderated this event that saw an interesting dynamic between secondary and teritary students of Trinidad and Tobago sharing their views on education, culture and current events that affect our economy today.
