May 15, 2009: The UWI St. Augustine Campus launches its first candidacy bid for institutional accreditation with the ACTT; becoming first of The UWI campuses to pursue institutional accreditation.
February 5, 2011: The UWI St. Augustine Campus is awarded institutional accreditation by the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT) for a seven-year period.
April 10, 2014: An ACTT evaluation team visits The UWI St. Augustine Campus as part of the mid-term review and in its report refers to the campus as a “high quality institution,” noting its continued success in securing significant capital investment despite the impact of the global economic crisis; and its retention of high calibre teaching and research staff at all levels despite difficulties in recruitment.
March 23, 2016: The UWI St. Augustine Campus commences its bid for continuous institutional accreditation with a preparatory meeting with the ACTT.
May 13, 2016: Active work toward continuous institutional accreditation begins with the ACTT workshop titled “Guiding the Self-Study Process for Institutions Seeking Continuing Institutional Accreditation”.
December 9, 2016: Submission of first official draft of the Self-Study Report to the ACTT.
February 2017: Submission of final draft of Self Study Report to the ACTT.
*October 2017: Comprehensive site visit by The ACTT and Evaluation Team.
*2018: The UWI St. Augustine Campus is awarded a 10-year continuing accredited status by the ACTT.
