Dr. Ronald C. Noel came into academia from industry after a career which spanned three decades. He previously worked as a Senior Chemical Sales Representative for George F. Huggins & Co. Ltd in charge of some of the major chemical manufacturers and distributors in the world. In this regards he was responsible for major aspects of the business dealings of Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) United Kingdom (UK) and the Americas; Albright and Wilson Ltd, UK and the Americas; Croda Inc., Edison, New Jersey; Coventry Chemicals, UK; Williams Hounslow, UK to identify some key groups. He has also partnered with colleagues to represent major groups such as Tate and Lyle North America, Decatur, Illinois and The Duckworth Group in Manchester, England. He has visited his professional associates on numerous occasions and they have been received by him in return. It was in this community of extensive business dealings that Dr. Noel saw the inner workings of the North Atlantic world and this environment comprised of colleagues who had both imperial and colonial dispositions. Moreover, it was also in this environment that Dr. Noel interfaced with all industries operating in Trinidad and Tobago. This implies that he related to a diverse crop of people with different racial heritages and financial means. It was between these two broad worlds that Dr. Noel found at times that he had to act as an agent and at times as a mediator in trade disputes. The saving grace was always history. History was his Greatest Collaborator.

Dr. Noel is the holder of a Ph.D in history from Howard University, Washington, DC, and from The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus: a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and a Bachelor of Arts ( B.A Hons) degrees in history. Additionally, he has diplomas in Marketing and Principles of Management which were certified by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).
