  • Genetic Improvement of anthurium, sugarcane, cocoa, tomato through breeding and biotechnology
  • Conservation and sustainable use of tropical plant biodiversity
  • Inheritance of characteristics of economic importance in crop plants grown in the humid tropics
  • Understanding the genetic basis for stress and disease resistance in tropical plants
  • Studying genotype-environmental interactions associated with tropical plants
