FOUN 1301 Law, Governance, Economy and Society
Course Description
This course is delivered through the medium of print. The print package comprises a student manual, a study guide and a reader. In addition to the print material there are teleconferencing and/or tutorials. The course introduces students to some of the major institutions in Caribbean society. It exposes the student to both the historical and contemporary aspects of Caribbean society, including Caribbean legal, political and economic systems. In addition, Caribbean culture and Caribbean social problems are discussed.
Assessment
Based solely on a final examination at the end of the semester. It consists of twelve (12) essay-type questions, of which students are required to write on three (3). All questions carry equal marks. The examination is divided into four (4) sections corresponding to the four (4) subject areas in the course. Students are not allowed to do more than one question in any one section.
