Transmission Electron Microscopy enables the visualization of ultra- structure of biological and non biological materials.

The Olympus Soft Imaging System with the Megaview III camera attached to the TEM allows for digital images, using the ITEM software, to be captured and displayed in a live format on our P.C. This system enables us to make all necessary adjustments such as contrast, brightness, image filtering etc. that you would have normally done in the darkroom. The software also has the ability to do measurements, slicing, and archiving data.

  • Negative Staining: for rapid visualization of macromolecules, proteins, viruses, organelles, or bacteria
  • Shadowing: for high contrast examination of protein complexes
