Student Study Tours and Field Trips

STUDENT STUDY TOURS

The IIR, as part of its academic outreach, organises both local and overseas student visits to expand our students knowledge of IR. Locally, students get to attend briefings at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as at the offices of the many International Institutions, embassies and civil society organizations operating in Trinidad and Tobago.

In an expansion of this programme, overseas study tours have been taken over the years to Venezuela, Cuba, Costa Rica, Panama, Guyana, Suriname and Washington D.C. These visits are intended to add an important international dimension to the student’s academic experience and to provide them with fresh perspectives on issues related to multilateralism, regionalism, and hemispheric concerns. Through visits to universities in these countries opportunities are also provided to further strengthen the academic and youth linkages.
