The enrollment option you choose determines the number of course credits you are allowed every semester. You can choose your enrollment option when selecting your programme during application.
Full-Time Undergraduate Student
In its broadest definition, a student who engages in employment for no more than twelve (12) hours per week, and is committed to a full-time course of study is categorised as a full-time student.
Note: that a person in full-time employment CANNOT be registered as a Full-time student unless written proof of approved leave is provided prior to registration.
Part-Time Undergraduate Student
A part-time student is one who is employed for more than twelve (12) hours per week. The Faculties of Humanities & Education, Science & Technology and Food & Agriculture all offer opportunities for part-time study. In the Faculty of Social Sciences, Level I only of the BSc Accounting degree programme may be pursued over a two-year period, while degrees offered by the Faculties of Science & Technology, Food & Agriculture and Humanities & Education can be taken by following the same courses as fulltime students but extending the period of study.
NB: For Part-Time Programmes classes may be scheduled at any time during the day on the timetable.
Evening Undergraduate Student
The UWI Evening University offers full-time employees access to accredited University degree programmes, with the same entry and matriculation requirements as those in the normal study stream. The Evening University currently offers Undergraduate BSc programmes in:
Faculty of Social Sciences
- Banking & Finance
- Insurance & Risk Management (Special)
- International Relations
- Leadership & Management
- Management Studies
- Public Sector Management
- Political Science ( Government)
- Sports Management
NB: Evening University classes will be held from Mondays to Fridays from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
