Ms. Josanne Leonard
Biography
Josanne has almost thirty years experience in the media, entertainment and cultural sectors and has been central to the region’s policy initiatives in AV and music, notably with the OTN, formerly the Caribbean Regional Negotiating Machinery. She is a producer and event manager and is regarded highly as one of the leading figures at the forefront of efforts to build a policy and industrial architecture for the region’s cultural sectors.
Josanne is also an experienced broadcaster, radio/tv producer and public affairs specialist who has worked with clients and affiliates in the Caribbean, USA and Europe. Josanne sits on the board of the World Independent Network of Music (WIN) and is a member of the Creative Economy Advisory Team of the UNDP’s South-South Special Cooperation Unit. She has a very wide network of contacts regionally and globally in both the development and industry spheres.
Josanne is Founder of the soon to be launched private sector led think tank InCITE, Institute for Culture, Innovation, Technology and Enterprise. Current projects include working with an international team of UK based creatives led by Keith Khan to develop and launch a three year (2011-2014) Caribbean multi-arts programme in partnership with the Barbican Centre and East London Partnership with an eye on London 2012 and the Diaspora 50 Anniversary Independence Celebrations of T&T and Jamaica in the UK.
