  • Deodat Maharaj is Managing Director of the United Nations Technology Bank for Least Developed Countries as of 17th April 2024. Mr. Maharaj, a national of Trinidad and Tobago has extensive experience in international development, working with the private sector, governments, and multi-lateral institutions in a career spanning more than 25 years. He knows the Least Developed Countries well, having lived and worked in countries like Mozambique and Tanzania in addition to developing countries like Barbados, Guyana, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago. He has served with the Caribbean Development Bank; and has consistently championed the need to leverage technology and innovation to help the Least Developed Countries fast-track their development.

  • Dr. Bhoendradatt Tewarie is Pro Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development at the University of the West Indies and Founding Director of the Institute of Critical Thinking. He served as Principal of the St. Augustine Campus of the University of the West Indies for six (6) years, as Executive Director of the Institute of Business for nine (9) years and Chairman of the National Institute for Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (NIHERST) for six (6) years. As Chairman of NIHERST he facilitated the creation of the College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAAT) and developed the rationale for the establishment of the National Training Agency (NTA). He also served as Chairman of the Committee which formulated a National Policy for Tertiary Education for the Vision 2020 Committee.
