TEAM MEMBERS

Paul Balwant- A Lecturer/Assistant Professor in the Department of Management Studies at The University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine. He is also a member of Trinidad and Tobago’s Industrial Relations Advisory Committee. Paul lectures in the areas of organizational behavior and leadership. He has also supervised master’s and doctoral students at UWI, UWI-Open Campus, and Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business. Paul holds a Ph.D. in Management from The University of Sheffield, is a Certified Management and Business Educator, and has been the recipient of prestigious scholarships as well as research and teaching awards. He has published numerous articles on leadership, engagement, and harassment in top international journals. At the 2014 Academy of Management Meeting, Paul was awarded the MED Best Paper in Management Education Award sponsored by the Organisational Behavior Teaching Society and the Journal of Management Education. Paul not only presents his research at local and international engagements but also applies his research via consultancy projects.

Dr. Cherisse Permell-Hutton - A Marketing Professional who holds a PhD in Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing from the University of the West Indies St. Augustine. She also completed her BSc and MSc in Management Studies with First Class Honours and Distinction respectively.

Dr. Permell-Hutton lectures part time at The UWI in the discipline of Marketing and has built a reputation as an engaging and effective Marketing professional. Dr. Permell-Hutton is also a published author in the international top tiered Journal of Global Marketing and Latin American Advances in Consumer Research.

In the past 6 years Dr. Permell-Hutton has been the lead social media strategist at a leading Recruitment Agency where she has executed successful social media marketing campaigns. Dr. Permell-Hutton prides herself as a creative thinker and her passion for marketing has provided a great avenue for her to create out of the box digital marketing campaigns.

Mrs. Vidiya Mahabir-Ramlakhan  - Vidiya supports the unit's outreach initiatives, including customer relationship and sale service activities. Vidiya is a very structured and highly competent person. She is well-organised, process-driven, and has experience in planning, developing, and managing academic programmes.

She has 29 years of experience at the UWI and knows how to get initiatives started. She has devoted considerable attention to improving our service experience and relationships with our summer students.
